New site!

Short post today just to let everyone know that I have made a new temporary site. Thanks to the (free) magic of carbonmade, I have been able to create a simple, clean and professional looking artist site to promote just my art. This is perfect for people who don't want to read my blah blah blah and just see the art.

Please visit the site here, and please make sure to check back on it frequently, as I plan to update it regularly as new art is created. It WILL NOT have any information as far as new shows or upcoming events. You will still have to come here or to my facebook (friend page only, haven't been able to bring myself to a "fan" page yet) for that information. Sorry.

Feed back is always welcomed, as I hope it will only improve the look of the site. Although I am sure I will just receive my usual comment from my friends running the Asian porn blog (see posting comment from 4/13, 3/31, 3/16...).

Professor Squirrel!

This weekend marks the grand opening of Professor Squirrel and the re-opening of the Compound Gallery at its new location. I have spent the better part of the past month making all new felt pins for the opening of the store (including the new "girl" hot dog, as the store owner called it).

I am SO excited for the opening of this store/gallery/studio for so many reasons. First being the people who are running it (Kerri and Lena) are so great. I have met with them and they are just awesome. They are so excited about the space, the art and the artists that it really makes me excited to be a part of it. I have had experiences in the past where this level of goodness just wasn't being put out and it really got me down. You should be excited about your art and the people who are showing it. This is defiantly the case with Kerri and Lena.

Also, the space is opening in Oakland which is always great. The building space itself is amazing, a very open warehouse that has been divided into a shop, working studios and a gallery space. It is just a really great use of space and a great place to have artist work and show their goods.

Here again is all the information about the opening reception. I will be in attendance and hope to see you there!
